SALARY: 53,900- 65,000 AUD/year (Full Time 38 hrs/week).

Due to continued growth in Aged Care and the demand for quality nurses to provide the highest level of care to residents, our clients are seeking Expressions of Interest from Registered Nurses at all levels. We are in the process of sourcing for a number of roles across Australia that can offer passionate RN’s, the ability to progress their careers and work for quality employers.

We are specifically looking for Registered Nurses with previous experience working in Aged Care who are interested in permanent or contract roles. We require an experienced Registered Nurse or Endorsed Nurse for our high care facility for all shifts.

The successful applicant for this position will have experience with staff management, a sound understanding of the ACFI process and be willing to commit to a leadership role in the organisation.

Main responsibilities:

  • Practices under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of practice for an Enrolled Nurse, individual training, qualification and competence
  • Coaches and provides tool-box training for personal careers to complete allocated care on a shift by shift basis
  • Contributes to the efficient utilisation of resources for safe and quality care
  • Consistently delivers safe, quality consumer-centred care that supports consumers’ health, safety and well-being and is inclusive of their identity, culture and diversity
  • Engages with and fosters partnerships with consumers and or their representative/s when delivering care
  • Administers medication safely according to Registered Nurse delegation, legislative requirements and the organisation’s policies and procedures
  • Supervises PCAs administering medications as delegated and liaises with the supervisory nurse as required
  • Implements and monitors Consumer Risk Management Plans to support consumers to take risks to enable them to live the best life they can
  • Promotes an evidence-based process for defining infections and the re-enforcement of the Antimicrobial
  • Stewardship Program for the safe and appropriate prescribing and use of antimicrobials
  • Appropriate and timely follow up of exceptions to consumer care plans in partnership with the consumers and or their representative. This includes timely and appropriate communication with the supervisory registered nurse.
  • Consumer deterioration is recognised and timely and appropriate responsive action is taken, including communication with the supervisory registered nurse when a consumer’s health status rapidly declines
  • Monitors the areas of key clinical risk and ensures timely escalation to the supervisory registered nurse occurs where safety is compromised, to ensure appropriate response actions can be taken
